Fluid mechanics related to the human body has fascinated and received attention from scientists even before the well-known studies of Leonardo da Vinci on Atherosclerosis. This DANSIS seminar will address two subjects within human fluid dynamics. The seminar will take a view to recent advances in the application of fluid mechanics analysis related to external human body flows with a special focus on drag reduction and performance optimisation in sports. The seminar will also focus on the development of novel numerical models and methods in internal human fluid mechanics to assists in advanced medical treatment.
